A freind of mine traded this bass for a red precision at a guitar show in dalla in 1980.

The bass was white, and I had put Schaller tuners on it in 1978. It was purchased in San Francisco in 1976, although I suppose it's possible that it was a 1975 model. It's the only bass I've ever sold, and I'd like to put it back in my collection, if it ever turns up.

This instrument is not in the Rickenbacker Registration Page registry, that is, there is no instrument currently registered that has a serial number ending #2626. The complete serial number, for this period, would begin with two alpha characters which were stamped on the jackplate followed by the last four numbers which you have indicated. It would be important to note that the online registry contains only about 2,000 registrations and there are hundreds of thousands of Rickenbackers out there! Good luck with your quest.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

Unfortunately, I don't know the two letters that would have preceeded the #2626. I'm working from memory here, and it's been twenty years.
