Are those Gibson pickups? Also, I wonder how original that aftermarket case is?

Looks like an easy fix .
Odd about the Vox(or Eco) case....
Why does all the good stuff turn up when I'm
broke.....

John, wait until the end of the auction - I have a feeling that it will go for beaucoup dollars, so "broke" is a relative term!

a '68 V69. That's a larf.
I have never seen a 1968 381 either. July no less. Between this and the '58 330, get the checkbook, Maw.

Cool. My '68 381 serial number is HD 885. And a whole lot different than this one. Both have checker bound headstocks though. Modded but still very cool.

What could you do to fix it???
Jeez, a couple of guys start after market humbucker businesses in the 70s and look what the grandkids have done to the old wood!!!! My GAWD........

Well, it is worth something to some people. I don't think these pickups look terrible on it... not like a zebra set of humbuckers or something.

Since I play a lot of hard rock and even metal, these pickups would actually be useful to me, although I would NEVER modify a Rickenbacker with them.
I have already put this one on watch, so maybe, just maybe I will pull the trigger on this one.

Scoobs is bidding on it, so good luck. It will be interesting to see what it goes for.
I agree that although it is horribly modified, it's still a pretty good looking & desireable gtr.

It's quite a "honey"
The guy obviously doesn't like changing strings often!

Brian, do you think this guitar would be able to play metal without being a feedback monster? That was the problem I had with a lot of hollowbodies in the past, non-Ric, of course...

Hey Steve-
I used to play a 381 with stock PUs through two Orange
OR120s with no problem.
If I stood within a foot the Pickups would squeal microphonicly but easily dealt with by the guitar's volume control. Walk away from the amp-line and back tack full blast.....
