12 string Rickenbacker acoustics

Post by stubby »

I don't hear people talking much about these on the forum. Indeed, relatively little talk abut acoustics at all. What say you about Rick 12 acoustics?

Rare, few and far between. Sorta' like bigfoot sightings.

That's too bad, there is nothing like a jumbo 12-string, and not much to choose from. I hope that Rickenbacker someday gets back into the acoustic game.

Oh I know.... If RIC were taking new acoustic orders this year I surely would have ordered a 12-string Comstock in BBR as a companion to my 6-string Commie....

It does, Aitch.... I had just gotten the guitar a few days before that picture was taken, and just grabbed a strap that I normally use for my electrics, but did not adjust it to the right length for the thicker body of the guitar, so it was riding up a bit higher than I normally like to play at.... I think my chest pushed it out a little farther, LOL!

Melissa, you're extremely lucky to have one, it's beautiful. Did you get it new or used?

Hey, just doin' my part to spread the RIC word......(ya listening JH?) :-)
I'm wanting a 700/12 myself. I saw one at NAMM a couple of years ago but it was Cindalee's. I told her that I'd trade her a guitar or two for hers......no dice. Luckily, I do have a 700 C MB on order.........

Dan, I did the Blueburst watercolor a couple of years ago--long before I knew it would ever be a color-of-the-year.... it was a rainy summer day and the kids were bored, so I got the paints out for them, and couldn't resist getting into them myself....it was right after I'd first seen pictures of Mary Chapin Carpenter's Blueburst, and I was fantasizing about what I wanted to have in that color.... And I'm still dreaming, though now it's about a 12-string Comstock.... I've got a couple of other dreams, too, that may be coming true soon.... Image

John B., My Comstock was the showroom demo at a Minnesota music chain store, Schmitt Music. We picked the guitar up when they listed it on eBay a couple of years ago, and I feel unbelievably fortunate to have it....
