That guitar looks SUPER nice... almost can't believe how perfect it is. Just gorgeous. Maybe when RIC are able to get their acoustic ball rolling again I'll get to try one out.

I'd be curious to hear how its sound would differ from my all-maple 730L Laramie.

Most likely it would sound much warmer.

Rumbush: There's some good news about Ric's acoustic production. John Hall posted the following on the Rickenbacker.com guitar forum:

"We haven't been accepting new orders for these for quite awhile to bring the backlog down a bit. Fortunately, things are going well in this department and you can expect to see more output this next year. Anyway, watch the website for an announcement that we're back taking orders."

Good news, no?

I took a look at the ebay Shiloh. Very nice. The thing I love about the Ric acoustics is the simplicity of them. No abalone, no vines growing up and down the fretboard, no pastoral bird scenes on an enormous plastic pickguard. They look so clean and unfettered.

What a pretty guitar.... Ric acoustics are the coolest! Still, I like the jumbo shape of my Comstock better....

The last acoustic to sell on eBay, if I recall correctly, went for $2700 and change...

A great buy considering rarity--not likely to change--compared to Martins or others in the same price range.

Thanks for the update Squid. I've had my eyeballs on a Martin HD-28 for a while, but this news changes things. The Shiloh looks sooo nice I might have to hold off on buying the Martin. Unfettered, unembellished, unpretentious - AND - they have chequered binding and those groovy inlays. Paul any guesstimate what these guitars go for from a dealer?

Ugh (err... not ugh for anything except the sound of the vacuum which is about to be affixed to my bank account), 2006 is going to be a serious Rick Acquisition Year. Those walnut-eared 4003's are a-callin'.
