Favorite Acoustic Songs to Play

Post by rkbsound »

I just got an acoustic for Christmas...the first I've had since I learned to play years ago. I haven't played one regularly in over 15 years due to my obsession with my electrics. I'm wondering what some favorite acoustic tunes those here like to play.

When I'm fairly pasted, one of my favorite party tricks is retuning to D-G-C-G-C-D and playing Led Zep's "The Rain Song." Image

Long Time Gone is an interesting choice for an acoustic tune Brian. Then again, I was just watching a CSN DVD (mid 90s maybe?) and they started the show with an acoustic version of Deja Vu-prety ballsy to start your night with a tune like that (though Stills is playing a Gretsch for the leads). Even though I suppose it's mostly acoustic in the original recording, it seems heavier, not like a real acoustic tune-the bass mostly carries the studio version. No ambiguities in Long Time Gone though-I'd like to hear your acoustic version some time.
