620/12 Mapleglo - Black Hardware?

Post by aoresteen »

I have a 620/12 Mapleglo from 1989. It has black hardware and a black Rick logo plate on the peg head.

How common is black hardware on a Ric? Mine's the only one I've seen but I've never really looked. I see chrome and gold all the time but no black.

Thanks!

Tony

Fairly common in the '80s.

Here's a picture of my 620/12 MG with black hardware. Note the black binding.

Looks great, Tony. Welcome from sunny Australia!

Black looks great with MG, IMO......

Yes, this is indeed fairly common in the '80s. I am a big fan of it myself. I actually quite like Midnight Blue/Black Trim and I LOVE Silver with Black. A 330/12 Silver with BT- Yow! BT was discontinued in 2002.

Oh man, I'd love to put black hardware on my Mapleglo 330. I can't find a place that sells black hardware for a Ric.

They don't make it anymore and it's tough to get. Chris at Pick of The Ricks may have some. If not, it's a fairly simple matter to take it off and get it powder-coated.
