from his description and the pic, looks like another bridge may have been on it at one time, maybe? still, doesn't seem like a bad deal!

Sounds like the typical bridge lift/finish cracking & peeling problem. Maybe a new tailpiece was put on it.
For $800 you can't go wrong!

It's not a horrible deal but I'd rather spend a few dollars more and get one not so dinged up and without obvious bridge lift issues. My '97 and '93 sold for around $100 more on Ebay and basically looked like new. I thought people overpaid for mine BTW.

I know that it is a 'fair' price for one in this condition but I just don't get it.....

both my 79 and my 80 are in as good condition and i paid 800 and 850 for them, respectively.

Rare to see much under a grand, but she scares me. Of course I'm easily frightened, keeps me single. That and being old, poor and ugly.
I'm just happy to be here.

Being early in the morning, I didn't consider the currency exchange rate. Still, not a bad deal, really. I find ebay buyers tend to lean to the high side of prices.

I picked up a mint RM1998 for the equivalent of $170 including the original case in a local music store - mind you, it was in 1973!

But then I got married and needed cash for a house deposit so I sold it - for $50!!!

Err... no, I am three house moves on now. But just out of interest, I have just bought a Rickenbacker that cost me more than my first house cost me!
