New Model

Post by krick »

The current RIC Retail Price List shows a new "1996" model listed in the Vintage Reissue Series section. Amber Fireglo finish only.

Not really a surprise though and this was already mentioned in the "Rickenbacker Basses" section.

And, it was previewed at Osaka in November, too.

WoW, I had no idea that model was in such demand! OK, who's going to rush out and buy one?

I just bought a 12-stringer from Mike Parks. But it's a factory prototype...Kevin's got the other one.

Kind of figure there won't be a 12, or it too would likely be listed on the price list, as all the other 12's are.

Thanks John, I think the 1996 model looks great either way. I had read somewhere that the production ones were going to have the 31 degree f hole (2PM). Now I will have one of each type.

I wonder who will be first to get one and replace the Accent with a Bigsby ...

I’m happy for you six stringers!
Will there be more surprises this weekend or are we done? I am really hoping for a new vintage bass!

What do you think he asks with fingers crossed!

Is the 1996 limited to this year only, or will it be available for a couple of years? I want to get one, and need to know how to start budgeting for it!

I think it will be limited. I believe it has been stated that the "C series" models would be staying around but the "Vintage Reissue Series" would have some models that come and go. The 1996 model is listed in the Vintage Reissue Series and available only in the 2006 Color of the Year.
