Swapping out pickups - Question ?????

Post by gjg59 »

I want to swap out some high gains for toasters. My friend is an excellant electronics tech (not guitars)and he does very neat solder work. We'll need to de-solder the old , then install the new. Is there anything special I should know, or avoid or that would cause me to take it to a guitar repair place instead ? Solder type ?finish protection? The last thing I want is a ground buzz. Also, who has the best price on Toasters ? Thanks!

Yup, pretty straight forward. Guitars are VERY simple electronics.

It's easy as pie to swap out Rickenbacker pickups.

I'd recommend Pick Of the Ricks, North Coast Music, or Rhoades Music for your new toasters.
