Danelectros

Post by longhouse »

I LOVE my Danelectros. Anyone else here have an opinion on these Neptunian masonite beauties?

Presently I own a 31 fret Longhorn/Mandoguitar and a Longhorn bass. The lipstick single coil sound is a true joy. They chime, sparkle, growl, and crunch like no other. The Ric Toaster sound is and will always be guitar tone perfection to me, but Danos have a definite place in my world.

The Longhorn bass is maybe the most guitarist-friendly 4 string I've played (cos the medium scale) and the tone is superb. From 'My Generation' to warm and woody. Wonderful.

I regret selling my Dano double-cut more than any other guitar I've let go.

kerrrangggg!

The only Dano that jangles my jingle is the hollowbody burst longhorn bass. I missed an NOS body on the 'Bay last week. Grrr.

The rest are kool, but in their day they were kinda hippie offbeat...
