Alternative to 325 ?

Post by stringbreaker »

Hello. Is there a Rick that looks & sounds like a 325 but has a bigger body? I know the 350 has a325 body with a bigger neck but it still looks like a Ukelele on me (and i'm just six feet tall). Is there such a model? Thanks, Frank.

Frank - Sounds like you need a 330-series guitar. It has the classic Capri body (thinline with pointed horns), but it's a full-size guitar with a full-scale neck. It looks very similar with triple pick-ups (i.e. 340) and a vibrato tailpiece (i.e. 335). Put it all together and you have a 345. Good luck!

..and the 330/40 have 24 frets so unless you're an oompa-loompa, riffing up there isn't the easiest. Don't take that as a knock, the best leads I've ever played (that's not saying much) have been on my 360. By contrast the lighter, 21-fret 350v63 is easier to play up the neck IMHO & is my favourite of the RIC guitars I own. I don't know where you live but there's a shop right round here in LA that has two jetglo 350s right now, and at least one 330 so you can A/B your little Rickenheart out.
