Perfect for posing as John or George--you know, the two guys who work in the plywood department at Home Depot?

Not really a convincing copy, but it could fool the unwary.
The fake TRC will ensure it's quick demise, however!

The Ricpolice strike again! As soon as you try to flog a 'copy' or 'replica' and mention the 'R' word or make anything proprietary a feature of the advertisement, you're basically stuffed!

And rightly so. Feeding off the manufacturer's product and reputation is not on.... but we already know that, don't we? Imitations are exactly what they are.......

When these things come up we need to grab one of the pictures before the listing is cut off and the bad guys sent to ebay jail.

You're appointed to handle that, F. Lee Fletcher.

Once again, thank you to RIC for staying on top of this stuff. Gibson just lost a case to PRS -- obviously once the jar is open on copies, you're pretty much done for.

Ah, yes. The return of the PRS single-cuts. Can't say I'm particularly moved by Gibson's loss or PRS's victory. Those things just aren't for me. I'm suprised that Gibson lost that case, however, just like I'm surprised at the number of Strat and Tele copies that are out there, seemingly unlicenced from Fender. Does a manufacturer have to patent absolutely everything? I would have thought that "squatter's rights" applied to those older designs, designs that pre-date a lot of the new intellectual property laws.

And good for Ric for recognizing the problem well ahead of time and treating it aggressively.

Kent - I kept the files. Ric parts were used just to prove that you cannot gild a turd.
