Losing Bridge Pickup

Post by syncop8r »

I had a problem with this a while ago and I cleaned and bent the contacts of both the toggle switch and the Standard jack input, which solved it for a while. The neck pickup was crackling or not sounding at all. I played around with the switch and discovered that was the problem, but could not fix it. So I soldered the contacts together, which worked until the toggle got bumped. Then I soldered wire between the posts on the switch to bypass it, and this has solved the problem, although the switch is now useless (I play with neck up full and bridge about 4/5).

Any ideas how to get the switch working again?
Or do I need to bother?

RIC sells new ones. They are not a standard type, or you could replace it with a more standard toggle switch.
Plus five minus five!
