Lemmy Kilmister Ltd. Edition is Limited

Post by admin »

I see from the Offical Site that the Lemmy Kilmister Limited Edition bass will be limited to 50 copies. This should result in a model forty years or so down the road that will be relatively exclusive. I find this to be very attractive, however, Rickenbacker does so well with its other bass lines (and I suspect will have a new line announced at NAMM) such that Lemmy's model may not be sought after to the extent that one might have expected. It may also be the case that the amount of work required on one of these basses is competing for time that needs to be spent elsewhere. I hope John Hall will comment of this latest move by RIC.

John Hall's post to alt.guitar.rickenbacker on December 22, 2000 would appear to explain at least one of the reasons for a limited production of the Lemmy Kilmister Limited Edition. Quote:We decided to do these by hand, part of the reason for the low production number.
