"Here without you"

Post by craviola990 »

Hey guys, try this: at the end of "Here without you", try playing a Townshend "Pinball wizard" voicing for the last chord (Bsus4-B) Leave the A string open, but finger the B root on the E string at the seventh using your thumb, so you have both an A AND a B in the bass. Kind of adds to the "Cool Gene Clark chord progression", by leaving an uncertainty to the end. Where did I get the nerve, the umitigated gall to DARE alter this piece of mid '60's folk-rock perfection to Gene's amazing writing? I really don't know, and I have no right, but I've always done it this way, and it sounds FABULOUS. Kind of like the intro to 10cc's "I'm not in love", Hall & Oats' "She's gone", Cheap tricks' "Surrender"; you guys get my drift. Thanks! Christian
