"Whus not to like?"

The fat horns? the mods? maybe the Nazi eagle sticker? The Iron Cross?

I don't like it at all. If you gave me that bass, I'd burn it. Seriously.

And you know that if it wasn't Lemmy's bass, just a similarly modded Ric that some neo-Nazi/anarchist punk put on eBay, we'd all trash it.

Not too far from it either. The guy collects Nazi memorabilia (Wikipedia), he keeps Hitlerjugend knives. You'd think the blitzkrieg would be a clear enough hint, but evidently not for Lemmy.

For me, Lemmy is not different than any other neo-Nazi punk. I'm sorry if I offend any Lemmy fans, but he offends me.

It's an interesting notion, whether you can despise the Nazi's and what they stood for, but still collect their memorabillia with a clear conscience? (I for one could not).
I've often wondered whether the 4004LK's oak leaf and acorn carving was suggested by Lemmy since the Nazi's used the same motif. Not to say that RIC's intention was ever to use Nazi symbolism in one of their instruments, but it is an interesting connection.

I agree with Ilan. If this bass or McCartney's for that matter, were to show up on the 'bay with no star connection, this forum would arm themselves with pitch forks and torches.

I'd say imagery like that is a big part of that genre of music. Here in the good old San Fernando Valley and Hollywood, we must have the world's biggest collection on metal bands. Their CD covers and magazine ads are full of quasi-horrifying images. Dripping blood, leather, chains, psuedo-near-nazi looking medallions. "Final Destruction" is the name of a CD by a popular local band. What's with that? Kinda silly for near-middle-aged men.

But shock value is what they're going for, even though all 147 bands in a single magazine have the same image. The nazi imagery is disturbing, but the rest is just goofy to me.
