Stringing an accent
Anybody have photos on re stringing an accent vibrato ?
More throttle...Less brakes
Barry: I'm sure everybody has their own way to do it. I personally remove all the old strings at the same time (slowly loosening them). Then I take the opportunity to polish the face of the guitar and clean the fingerboard. Then I slide the Accent pieces apart, feed the new strings into the slots, and slide the Accent back together. The Accent will capture the strings very nicely until you can start tightening them up. I like to cover the face of the guitar near the Accent with a polishing cloth to prevent any accidental scratches while sliding parts around. Good luck!
Hey! That sounds like a good way to do it Randy!

I replace them all at the same time too with the Accent disassembled. I carefully bend the string over at a right angle with a pair of needlenose pliers about 1/4" from the ball end, put it in place and secure it with a bit of masking tape. Then I slide the whole shebang back into place and string up the tuning pegs one by one, two E's first, then the rest. Tune to pitch. You'll save time by tuning the low strings first--they put the most tension on the Accent and it'll be closer to on pitch when you get to the higher strings. Remove the tape once you get it slid together again.
“I say in speeches that a plausible mission of artists is to make people appreciate being alive at least a little bit. I am then asked if I know of any artists who pulled that off. I reply, 'The Beatles did.”
