McCartney's guitars
McCartney's guitars
Between the years 1962-1964, do you think that McCartney only played a Hofner bass? Do you think he only wrote songs on his bass, a piano or a righty Lennon/Harrison guitar? It seems that he would at least have an acoustic or electric hanging around at that time. What do you think?
I don't think a prudent person would think he didn't own electric guitars John. Prudent being the key word.

Holy **** John! You're right! Their is no mention of any new guitar. Since his Rosetti bit the dust that meant that he may have been using his Zenith. Being that he converted the Rosetti to a makeshift bass because he didn't want to spend the money on a new bass, he may have just used the Zenith. Nice catch.

And there's the well known anecdote about John and Paul writing "I Want to Hold Your Hand" at the piano in the basement of the Asher's house.
And I believe in Hunter Davies' biog, both John and Paul are working at the piano while writing "With a Little Help From my Friends" and Paul breaks off to play "Fool on the Hill" to John on the piano. Although it's been a while since I read that book.
Anyway, neither story proves anything about Paul's guitars, just that the piano seems to have been no stranger to their songwriting sessions.
