Abbey Road View

Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

I've read that a day rarely goes by where some tourists don't stop and take pictures of themselves crossing the street at THAT corner.

Very cool sights.

Yeah - During the day there are street vendors at the triangle who will be glad to take your picture with your camera as you cross the street.

Considering what a historic place London is, and what a draw that crosswalk is, it's a shame they don't make an exception and do away with some of those road stripes that have appeared since 1969.
This is off the record

On the Abbey road site, there are many different sites. One is the Cafe, I believe. In the cafe site is a section where people from all around the world have sent photos of themselves crossing Abbey Road. I have sent mine in, only to find out I crossed at the wrong one, up the road a piece! Hey it was a Sunday morning, many years ago.

They posted it anyway. So if you've crossed, you can have them add your photo to the collection!

I walked across, but didn't take a picture. I have it on video. What fun. Until I made the trip to London I never realized how far the Abbey Road brick wall on the back cover was from the EMI Studio. They also changed the bricks to read "Abbey RD".

Glenn is right. London should get rid of those funky squiggley lines at that one special intersection and paint them the way they are on the cover.

That would also eliminate any confusion as to which is the proper intersection.

It must have been a fun outing for those of you who've been able to visit the site.

What the heck do those lines mean anyway. I know they drive crazy and backwards and all that, but honestly.

They signal the driver of an approaching pedestrian crosswalk. In Britain, drivers are required to stop for pedestrians at all crosswalks.
