Good question: commerce at confluences

Someone posed a very interesting question in another topic. Is it okay or is it discouraged to trade/buy/sell RICs with other forumites at a confluence? Seems like a great opportunity but also could be inappropriate. I just don't know. Thoughts?

We've had vendors attend, but not so much as a trade show. Pickguardian hung a banner at the Columbus Confluence, John and Merilee (sp?) Hall and Kenny Howes of RIC were at the SoCalCon, and Chris Clayton (Pick of the Ricks) was at the MidAtlantic Rick Con in Virginia. I'm sure there were some private deals going on at all the events. It's possible that at some of the venues, there might be higher conference-room rentals if there is a lot of money changing hands. Don't know for sure.

Cindalee, right. Thanks, Paul. Senior moment. I was mixing the name up with someone else who came to mind. My apologies to Mrs. Hall. I hope to get to know them better, then I won't forget.

Glad to read you are coming to the "event" in August. My wife, whatzername, and I will be there, too. Looking forward to it. It will be the last weekend before my retirement!!!

YES! That's her name! SWMBO! How could I forget?

No, actually, it is Dorothy, and I'm so proud of her. She just retired after a 43-year career in education. Friday was her last day. Saturday was our last mortgage payment, and Sunday we partied!

Jason, I thought it funny when I read it as the 330/12 being the one consuming the 12-pack ...

In a side note, I have a book on learning Cherokee (Tsalaghi) and have just started reading a bit of it; it turns out that Cherokee uses a lot of hyphenated expressions, akin to she-who-must-be-obeyed; there are a lot of puns as well (an example given concerned the Delaware-settled town of Nowata, which IIRC was translated as there-is-nothing-to-drink-there). I always had wondered why both came to me so easily! (I'm 1/16 Cherokee.)
