Anybody order a Ric catalog?
Anyone out there order the Ric catalog from the website? I've ordered twice in the past and have never received one. I live in the US.
When the catalog return rate exceeded 10%, we started validating the supplied addresses against the USPS database. Seems that more than 10% of the population doesn't know their correct address or they move within the 6 weeks it sometimes takes the post to move the mail. I don't know what to think, to be honest. Of course, the many requests from Heywood Jablowmi and the like slow things down as well.
We try to answer all email within 24 hours on business days. BUT, and it's a big but- something much less than 100% of email is delivered or received on either end. It's a combination of technical problems, spam filters, who knows what all? The best ones are the AOL users who send a message to us but have turned off the receipt of email from outside the AOL system. And they wonder why they don't get an answer.
It's an imperfect communication system and it's not rude if you don't get an answer to send it again. (Just make sure your message doesn't include any phrases that sound like spam, because it will never get through.) HTML or Rich Text is also often filtered out. This advice applies to messaging you do with any company, not just us.
That being said, a survey just out in a leading IT publication says that email inquiries sent to the top 500 US high tech companies went unanswered 33% of the time.
