Let's hear your stuff - LIVE!

Post by walker »

Hey all - a suggestion... how about a thread for promoting your live shows? If anyone has a show coming up, broadcast your gigs here. For example, if I, Mark Walker, had a gig coming up, I might choose to post it like this:

That is, IF... I had a gig coming up July 4th, which I do. Swing by if you're in the NYC area and not already swayed by the fireworks.

best,

Interesting material Mark,

Some of it must be difficult to reproduce live. "Seduction" comes to mind. Good luck with the gig and the CD.

Thanks, Brian. Yes, 'The Seduction.' Not currently in the set list. We'll have to wait until we polish our sequencing gear before we try that one live. That's from the hopefully-soon-to-be-finished 2nd CD, which is full of more elaborate sounding stuff like that. The first CD is a more basic guitar/bass/drums/vocs format.

And what about yourself, Brian? I assume you've got a guitar or two in your collection... any shows coming up?

No shows coming up for me Mark. For a number of reasons, the biggest being that I retired from the music business in the mid 70's.

Thanks Sheena,

Got me there (Sheena is our manager). It's true. Aitch and I will be releasing a recording this September. Right here on the forum. No live performances are planned though.

Hey Brian - What did you do in the '70s? And who is H.B? Any of your previous recordings still available or posted anywhere?

Too sad. I kinda hoped you'll make a world tour.
And who is H.B?

That's a secret. But you'll know it soon Image
BTW, as far as i know, Brian does have some recordings. Hey. I haven't said anything! Image

Mark,

Our newly hired manager (who is in Russia and works pro bono BTW) is having a bit of fun with the news of the pending forum release when my good friend and collaborator arrives from Oz.

Yes Sheena is correct my band Meddy's People had three singles (think vinyl) issued between 1967 and 1969 all on the Quality Records of Canada label.

My band Pegasus recorded almost an entire album in the mid 70's but management contract issues and closure of the label forced us to disband immediately after a tour with Rory Gallagher in 1975.

We only came close to our dream...but no cigar, unfortunately.

Sound bytes were posted on the forum less than 12 months ago. They have all expired though. If you want to hear some of my work send me an e-mail and I will send you one or two more recent cuts.

My band, Model Citizen, will be performing July 7, Friday night, at Halligan's Pub in Detroit, 22100 W. Warren, on at 9pm. Anyone in the Detroit area, come on out and check out the Blueburst 4003 in action! (as well as the Thunderbird, the Hamer 12 and the Fender Jazz 5).
Check us out at http://www.modelcitizendetroit or http://www.myspace.com/modelcitizendetroit.

John unless you lived near the border of Canada I can't think of any reason why you would know our band. As history unfolds, thanks in part to the internet, it turns out that a number of bands assumed that name for a brief period of time.
