Control cavity cover on 4004 series

Post by jps »

I am curious as to why the cover plate is not flush with the back. My guess is that due to the thin-ness of the body the controls are too close to the back to allow recessing the cover plate, is this correct?

Im not sure why its not recessed, seems to be plenty of room on mine. I kinda like how its designed.

Jeffrey, I'm sure you're right. You don't have the extra thickness of a pickguard on top, like a 4003. A recessed cover would be cutting it very close. Anyway, it's never bothered me.
