Straight into amp EQ
hey all-
i have a 4001CS and a SansAmp Bass Driver DI... and i love that "squire-esque" sound, but what EQ settings are you all happy with when you just plug straight into your amps?

I used to EQ a ton, but then finally decided that no matter what I did, it ended up being too boomy or not boomy enough (at least, on my current amp), so I set everything flat, and went from there. Now, it's basically 1 o'clock on every dial; bass, mid, mid frequency, and treble. It sounds very good with pretty much every pickup combination and volume/tone setting. I may buy an Ashdown head and a cabinet sometime soon . . . my 1x15 combo is just way too boomy most of the time.
