4003 vs 4001v63

Post by 6025 »

Could someone please explain the differences between the 4003 and the 4001v63, specifically the differences between the pickups? Thanks in advance.

the 4001V63 (out of production) had a vintage horseshoe treble p'up and a toaster bass p'up. the toaster, IMO, has less output than the nrw ones. the horseshoe has apunchier sound to it. i have both and it feels as if the 4001 neck is easier to play. the fretboard is much nicer looking. the body is contoured better than the 4003. the 4001V63 is now called the 4001C64 (?), hope its easier to find...Good luck!
