Pickguard question.....

Post by webhead »

I have a 2006 360 with white guards. I'd like to get gold guards for it. Anyone have any info? Thanks

I'll second the pickguardian recommendation - great service, quality product and reasonable prices.

I wouldn't do it just because of the nameplate.
Does the trade in include color swap?

Thanks for the link... Do you know if RIC still has the gold TRCs?

Touchy subject. For the best answer, I would call Kenny at Rickenbacker. He will give you the straight scoop and he'll probably do it with a smile on his face.

My understanding is that RIC's current policy is to swap a damaged TRC for one of the same color only.

I had a 335 (er, 330VP/VB) with gold guards. My dealer painted the nameplate (gold spraypaint and brown letters [to match the oven knobs]). It looked great.

The raised letter nameplates are easy to custom-paint to match gold guards. White plexi vintage plates are somewhat more difficult.

A white raised-letter nameplate can even be painted with gold acrylic craft paint, so that later it may be soaked in a hot soapy water solution, scrubbed with a toothbrush, and returned to white, if desired.
