Help! 1972 Bass Bridge Problem

Post by gslaw »

Howdy, I have a 72 4001 that someone pulled the bridge off of and replaced with a Badass. God help the poor soul, but hey we all like what we like, yes? Anyway, I still have the split tailpiece and the problem seems to be that no bridge will fit inside as the slot for the bridge is quite a bit more narrow than the newer ones? Any ideas out there as I don’t really want to jjust buy a whole new btailpiece/bridge assembly. Any help appreciated1

I have the opposite problem. I have a recently refinished 72 that has a new tailpiece and the bridge doesn't fit properly into it. Maybe we can swap bridges.

Man, I just sent the bridge I ordered back to The Music Connection for a refund. But If you have the right bridge, I would be interested in buying it from you. Let me know what you think. Thanks!

I recently bought a split tail thing from Dane Wilder. He did the mod you're talking about and then replated it. Works great. Contact him....
