New RICs - Pix

Post by nab »

Ordered a few last spring, thinking "Lord knows when they will ship". Well, two showed up in a month!

4001c64 - Love the neck! Compared to my 4003, Definite difference. The (how to describe?) "softer" FG is actually quite nice.

'06 FGs and AFG for comparison:

Also, my 1996 got a big sister, a JG 350v63. The 3/4 scales are nice, 350 gives you a little more neck to work with. Neck is SLIM, I can't imagine these as 12 strings (Would like to hear from someone who nows!). I did the 5th knob as mid PUP volume rewire. Took me ten minutes and works great once I got it through my head that the selector switch no longer had anything to do with the mid PUP.
350 and 1996 side by side:

Pls forgive the poor photography, hope they came out good enough

The more I look around the forum the more I feel like one Rick is not enough. Real nice collection of Fireglows. I don't even know where to start as far as looking for another Rick. There are so many different models over the years and colors seem to come and go.

Kevin: We will be able to find you something else in the Rickenbacker line you will like. Trust me!

RIC TEASE!!!! (Sorry, no offense, Jeff, I had to do it... If that hasn't been used before, I am VERY surprised...)

Actually, dunno. Per serial, last week in June.
FG is very different from my 360/12c63, end of March per serial.

Not complaining at all. All my FGs are different from each other, and I am quite happy with that!!

Jeffrey,
Is that inside the Rickenbacker Factory or is that your private stock of Fireglow basses.

I'm not a bass player but I sure like the look of those basses. I may have to get one of those.

It's my private stock. The woman behind John is my instrument caretaker.

Jack, I don't believe the c64's have AFG finishes. What we're seeing is just different shades of Fireglo.

Sorry for confusion, it is FG, just more "mellow" than my 360 or 4003.

Since Jack mentioned his 360/12c63, here it is... These are pictures Jack took right after he received it.
