SOS for case handle

Post by harvey49 »

Can anyone suggest where I might try to get a replacement plastic handle for Gretsch Super Axe guitar case.

I know quite a lot of the Ricken Family here, have the odd "other guitar brand" so I hope I'm not out of place for asking for some help on this one.

Elderly has four styles of handles. Some buckle on for ease of replacement. They are about half way down on this page.

They have everything you could think of--all the latches, handles, corners, for all sorts of guitar and bass cases. Some amp stuff, too.

Wow! 21 pages of handles and associated hardware..... amazing!

I think you'd better post a pic of the guitar so we know what we're dealing with here, Ron! Image

It's amazing what you'll find in Ohio! Image

And in Solon, too, gee, I was just there yesterday looking for beadboard.

On Howard's recommendation here's a pic of my new toy.

Thanks to all who replied, I hoped I'd get a lead from someone but what a response - I'm sure I'll find something suitable here in the land of plenty. Image

Excellent! Having seen it 'in the flesh' so to speak, I can say that this is an awesome guitar in brilliant condition. Ron spent many hours bringing it 'up to scratch' and has done a wonderful job.

Congrats again, Ron! Image

Thanks for the praise Howard, just an update on the handle, thanks to Paul's link I found the exact handle!!!! However, (there always seems to be a however lately!), the manufacturer no longer makes them and Ohio Travel bag have none in stock. I've got one more avenue to try and if that doesn't come off I guess I'll just have to tuck the case under my arm and carry it around from now on. What a pain Image
