Freddie Marsden Passes

Post by admin »

I heard today that Freddie Marsden, Gerry Marsden's brother, passed away due to cancer. He was the original drummer of the group,Gerry and the Pacemakers, who had so many great hits in the 1960s. I believe that he was born on November 23, 1940 which made him 66 years old.

What a shock that is. Thanks for letting us know Peter.

Not to make things worse, but hasn't Gerry had some heart problems in the last few years?

Mike: Freddie passed away on Saturday December 9, 2006. The funeral will take place this Friday December 15th in Formby. Freddie had been diagnosed with terminal lung cancer. Look for something in the Liverpool Echo in the near future.

Wow!

That story added a real human dimension to his life after the Pacemakers.

Thanks Peter.
