New necks

Post by shackleton »

I have a 96 360/12 and a 98 360/6 with the same neck. I got a 05 620/12 with a 1/16 narrower nut and 1/16 fatter neck profile. Also the string pairs have a wider spacing. This was measured with a caliper. Does any one know if all necks have changed or just 620/12's? and when?
Got to start with one make it a 360/12.

I think you have an anomalous situation. These are CNCd. Maybe things either drifted or the sander went too far. These are both extremely unusual circumstances, IME.

The string pairs' spacing is a result of RIC going to a wider-spaced nut in mid-'05, roughly.

The width of the neck at the nut is the same. The thickness or profile is thicker.
Got to start with one make it a 360/12.
