For those who missed it, this is the description offered by Ebay seller 'anotheroldhippie'

"this is a tokai twelve string electric guitar. yes, a tokai. i can tell you all you want to know about this offline, if you'd like to email me at [email protected]. i've had it for a year or so, it's never left my studio, it doesn't have any road use whatsoever, and it is most definitely a dead on spittin' image of what you came here to look at....at less than half the cost.

i can include a gig bag if you'd like, guitar will be double boxed for shipping ($20.00 flat).

if you're even remotely interested in this guitar, make a note of that email address above, because this auction will be pulled the minute the folks at prickenbacker find out about it. thus the newish account with minimal feedback..."

"Prickenbacker?" Once again, note the email address which 'anotheroldhippie' prefers for responses.

They can't. Ebay is filled with wiley, street-smart jerks who play the angles. You can always tell when you ask a nice question and get a canned response worded to keep you on the outside...

Then there are the outright jerks, who make no bones about it.

Is the manufacture of these guitars illegal? Can RIC not just sue Tokai?

Did I mention that I'm NOT a copyright lawyer?

Actually, calling the company "prickenbacker" in print is libel, and the idiot can (should!) be sued (all that RIC would have to do is present a copy of the auction as evidence, done deal!). BTW, I think that it is against eBay policy for an auction to contain libelous material, because eBay doesn't want to be sued as an accomplice.

Again, I'd like to point out that the seller listed his email that he prefers for responses.
