John's Last Public Performance

Post by lennonon »

Anyone know why John choose to participate in an ode to Sir Lew Grade (which amounted to his very last performance in front of an audience). I thought he HATED the guy. I KNOW he performed "Slippin' & Slidin'" emphasizing the "ain't gonna be your fool no more" line and had his band wore "Two-faced" masks, but it still seems weird that THIS drew John out for the final show of his life.

• LENNON vs SIR LEW— the fascinating story of John's last stage appearance, in which he ingeniously insulted Sir Lew Grade, the man who owned The Beatles' songwriting catalogue, at Sir Lew's own tribute gala concert
