Phil,

good to see you here again...

When you have a second could you possibly mail me some close up pics of your '65 volume and tone knobs..

Cheers!

Kris, is your CS really that yellow color or is it just the picture? It looks a little more yellow then ones I've seen in the past. Even compared to the one in Phillip's pic. Also is it me or is the headstock on the CS extra long compared to other models? Just wondering.

The early CS' did indeed have the long '60's headstock, but I believe it was changed midway through the run.

Here are mine; '72 4001, '91 CS, '73 4000 and '76 4001. The '76 Azure used to be mine but now is the pride and joy of a friend, although I'm currently babysitting it for him.

Philip, good to see you posting. Do you still have the V63?

Luke,
Yes it is really this yellow. It is just faded though. Must have been in a lot of smoky rooms. I have taken off the bridge pick up just to see what the color looks like underneath and it is the right cream color.
The headstock is a correct one for the production time. Mine is December 1990. It is the #5 in the run.

Peter, The pic looks nice but, not sure if it's an upload problem, or something with your camera. The pic looks reversed.
