Early 1980s KORG BX3 Organ. All analog, sounds big and yummy like a Hammond, but weighs MUCH less, while being nearly as impressive visually. (See reference photo from original catalog here.)
This instrument has been around the BLOCK baby, and could use some love. The most important stuff is OK: No significant chip leakage, all notes work, no broken keys, Leslie simulator works great, Vibrato/Chorus works, drawbars are fine. Here's where it could use some work: The balance between the two manuals is a little funky (controlled by a pot, maybe replacing it would do the trick?); the percussion effect on the bottom manual is really noisy (but fine on the upper manual); the wood structure could use a little TLC; a couple of the presets are funky.
All in all, nothing MAJOR, just some inexpensive parts and some elbow grease.
Here's two more good things:
- CUSTOM-MADE CALZONE FLIGHT CASE INCLUDED! It's blue.
- These things have been going on eBay for such prices as $1000 - $1500, and, while they may be cleaner examples, they're still not $700 with free domestic shipping in the USA!
TRADES CONSIDERED. Always looking for Vox amps, cabs, organs; Rickenbacker guitars & basses, projects considered; WEM gear, especially cabs; weirdo '60s keyboards.
