Tribute type : Sounds For George

Post by tennis_nick »

Story : George Harrison was a big fan of Indian Music, even studying with Ravi Shankar to become a better player. Knowing this, I then ventured off into Genn's lesson page to learn a new mode! After a few weeks of noodling, I finally found myself with minutes to spare and no one in the house, so I recorded! I don't think I spent more than 20 minutes recording and putting everything together, so sloppy it may be.

Recording Facts:

Cheap 20$ Sony mic bought at the Sony Store

Whatever soundcard is stock in these HP computers

Vox AD50VT set on "AC15"

Vox V847 wah pedal, no mods.

Epiphone Casino, neck pickup.

The drone track was done with the guitar tuned

I just sat it in front of the amp with the mic, set the wah pedal to wherever, recorded it for about a minute and a half while I went to get a drink and looped at parts.

The lead track is in dropped D, though near the end I drop the high e to a D, though I cut out the harmonic part where I tune it down.

BTW, I lost my tuner, so let me know how it sounds.
