I saw Radiohead today...WOW!

Post by soundmasterg »

I saw Radiohead today in Auburn, Washington. It was a fabulous show, with the sound being really well balanced, and the band in top form.
The bass player was using a Jbass with a vintage Ampeg SVT.
The drummer was right in the groove all night, even on some of their newer techno type stuff. He actually played a lot of that on the drum kit which was surprising.
Thom Yorke played a Tele, an ES125, a Rickenbacker 330, an upright piano, a Fender Rhodes, and an acoustic guitar. He was using an AC30. His voice was note on and strong all night long and he was poilte and very funny with the crowd.
Ed O' Brien played a Rickenbacker 320 (I think), a Tele, and a 335 through an AC30, a Mesa Dual Recto, and a Fender of some sort.
Johnny Greenwood was really crazy and wild, just bashing the hell out of his Tele with his hands. He and Ed had three pedal boards full with gear that they were using. Johnny played thru an AC30 and Fender, and he also played some keyboard stuff on some modern keyboards, and he triggered the computer beats they used on a couple songs. Overall it was a fabulous show, but best of all were the Rickenbacker sightings!

Greg: Thanks for the update. It is very satisfying to see popular groups with a good complement of Rickenbackers.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm
