This is one of my all-time favorite songs, by the way.

That was a good song, wasn't it? And it just wouldn't be right without the Ric.

Me too!

I remember my grandparent's Golden Wedding Anniversary party at our home.... the record had just been released here and us 'youngie' cousins played it to death.

My brother had a battery powered record player and we took it outside and danced in the street!!

Wonderful memories indeed....... Image

Yes, Sylvia Tyson wrote the song and does a great version.

I think I mentioned this once before, but I&S are in the Festival Express film. (Sorry Melissa and Sheena but ...) Sylvia has on a very short skirt and has the greatest legs I've ever seen.
I relayed this observation to a 60s icon and he said, "Oh yeah, everyone was in love with Sylvia back then."

Sylvia was very appealing to say the least.

I am just guessing but I suspect that We Five must have been the first of the 60's groups to hire a support musicians (drummer) in each town that they played. Chuck Berry is famous for doing that and he may have pioneered that way of touring.

RE: Fricker.

True, I guess.
To me, though, she'll always be Sylvia Tyson.

I've always liked that song. Capo on the 4th fret, no wonder I could never figure it out!

Speaking of capos and such . . .

Anyone have the (correct) chords to the We Five version?
The (free) one online is pretty close but not quite there.
The one in one of my 60s books is way off. (They have it in Bb: F - Bb - C7.)

There are no RICs here but this is a great version:

It's songs like these they make me wish so much that I could sing.

It just ain't fair.

Here, by the way is Sylvia's version:

And I have another question. If she is going by Fricker now, how come that tour agency and the publicity photos refer to her as "Tyson?"

Hey, that was a good version. And they looked like they were having fun, too.
