The Family: Ricks, Vox and SG

Post by uzumaki »

I was doing some much needed guitar cleaning and restringing. Thought I'd take a minute and take some family shots. It's interesting to see the proportions of the different guitars next to each other. The Vox is a 1967 Mark VI. The SG is one of those strange early 70's SG mutations (1971 SG Deluxe, I believe). Front loaded electronics - it's not the prettiest SG, however, it is the BEST SG I have ever played with a beautiful tiny neck. The Rickenbackers are my 2007 660/12 and 2004 620/6

Very nice, Chris! The Vox looks cool...... can't see any strings on it - do you play it?

:-) No strings on either the Vox or the SG because I was cleaning them and getting ready to restring. I jumped the gun and took the photos before I put the strings on. The Vox plays really good, have played it many times on stage and recording. It has a unique sound - doesn't sound like a Fender, despite the 3 single coils.

I would love a 360 one day, Kent. Currently, on the waiting list for a 325C64. Not sure if a 360 will come BEFORE or AFTER the 325 !!! :-)
