If anybody's been on the lookout for a 4001 Shadow...

This also proves that Ric made 4001's (at least Shadows) at least until November of 1986 (also says so in Richard Smith's book) unless someone changed the pickguard.

In my very humble opinion, the seller simply mis-stated it as a "4001 Shadow".

But it has a one piece pickguard, you think it is a 4003 Paul? Actually when did they stop the truss rod nuts at the body end anyway? 84 or later?

I believe the body-end truss rod and 2-piece guard design was stopped in '84 or '85.

The 4003 Shadow basses were produced during '86-'89. Mid-late 1986 mostly.

Isn't that the Lamont Cranston signature series?

Quick guess, within $100, where do you think the bidding will stop?

I think there'll be a last second push and it'll go for around $1250.00
