Steve Carlise Leaves MPS

Steve Carlisle, drummer and vocalist of MIKE PENDER'S SEARCHERS has left the band after 18 years. This information was revealed in the latest MPS NEWS (No. 30 Autumn 2003).

MPS has taken a backseat during recent years as Mike Pender has been devoting most of his efforts to the "Reelin and a Rockin Tour." This is a significant loss for MPS and one wonders how long this band can continue given the reduced number of gigging opportunties for its long time members. The group has posted only 10 gig dates over the period September to December 2003. The reason for his departure was not mentioned in the Fan Club Magazine.

As far as I know, Steve had a good number of dates as a guitarist/singer. Fitting in the reduced number of MPS gigs just didn't prove possible.

Thanks Tim. I certainly can't blame Steve for wanting to perform rather that waiting around for MPS bookings. I suppose Mike can't look a gift horse in the mouth either.
