I never bought a new 4003 before. Tried a few, never liked the neck, or the general feel.
The 4003DCM I received is definitely something special. First of all, where do you get a bass that right out of the box ( and someone here has pics), the thing is in tune, action perfect, sound bright as heck.. just a great looking and playing bass.
I know people are going to go nuts on this one but - Special shout out to Stefan at Ed Roman guitars for getting the bass to me the very day of MARF.

I haven't found the Mojo filler neck in my new 4003DCM yet, but I will keep looking. It's gotta be here someplace (funny, 1970s gas jockeys used to say the same thing about one of my cars, they never could figure out where the gas tank lid was on this old car I was driving, because it was behind the left taillight

And I sure do miss the ONE that I had! BUT, I was but a lad, and I "modified it" just a bit...
396ci, Muncie M22, 4:11 rear...bed in the back...
What a car! My friends called either a Hearse or a Checker Cab! I don't talk to THEM anymore! When I MATURED, and reached the RIPE old age of about 22, I started to appreciate the STOCK aspect of older cars. I never modified one again. I'm now a STOCK man through & through.
But, that doesn't include my old V8 Vega! LOL, what a POS!
