It's not just a different color

Post by marc61 »

I never bought a new 4003 before. Tried a few, never liked the neck, or the general feel.

The 4003DCM I received is definitely something special. First of all, where do you get a bass that right out of the box ( and someone here has pics), the thing is in tune, action perfect, sound bright as heck.. just a great looking and playing bass.

I know people are going to go nuts on this one but - Special shout out to Stefan at Ed Roman guitars for getting the bass to me the very day of MARF.

Check where RIC pours the Mojo in. I think when JH was showing us the prototype 75th bass at the factory he said that these models would be equipped with a second hole in order to pour in twice the Mojo.

I know. I have to keep it in a walk-in fridge...

I haven't found the Mojo filler neck in my new 4003DCM yet, but I will keep looking. It's gotta be here someplace (funny, 1970s gas jockeys used to say the same thing about one of my cars, they never could figure out where the gas tank lid was on this old car I was driving, because it was behind the left taillight Image ) Maybe under the tailpiece?

Wherever, it must be pretty high-octane stuff. I haven't hear a valve ping yet!! Not even when floorboarding it to climb up some especially-steep riff....

Nomads, eh?

Here are two of the eight that I used to own back in the '80s:

Cool. I'll bet an SVT 8X10 cab would fit in one of those!

Oh man,

And I sure do miss the ONE that I had! BUT, I was but a lad, and I "modified it" just a bit...

396ci, Muncie M22, 4:11 rear...bed in the back...
What a car! Image My friends called either a Hearse or a Checker Cab! I don't talk to THEM anymore! When I MATURED, and reached the RIPE old age of about 22, I started to appreciate the STOCK aspect of older cars. I never modified one again. I'm now a STOCK man through & through.

But, that doesn't include my old V8 Vega! LOL, what a POS!

Not all at once, Dane, although the black '57 and the Coral/Shadow Gray '55 did share a garage.
