Naked Beatles
According to Rollingstone.com Paul and Ringo are re-releasing the album "Let It Be", without all the Spector overproduction and without "Dig It" and "Maggie Mae". "Don't Let Me Down" and rehearsals will be included. I find this good news, cause I could never stand "The Long And Winding Road"'s gaudy choral backups, among other stuff. Paul and Ringo and Glyn Johns (engineer) are said to be quite happy with the results, and they've said that George approved the project before his passing. I can't wait to hear if my least-liked Beatle album moves off that list!
According to Ringo Starr who was interviewed during his tour, the 'Let It Be' video and DVD are still being "cleaned up" as he put it. So don't look for it this year. Rumors abound that it will include bonus material, but until it appears on the store shelves I'm not going to get too excited about it. Even the CD coming out in November could have included more material than the 20 minutes on the extra disc they're giving us. Once again Apple has "missed the field goal for the extra point"!
