Thanx to Paul Yan, and the troubles to get parts
In one of my earlier threads, I asked people what they did with their treble pick covers on their 4003. I removed mine but it is not a pretty sight.
Paul Yan showed pictures, with a neck pickup cover on the bridge pickup. I saw it, was in love and wanted that too.....
Over here in The Netherlands, we no dealer or distributer for Rickenbacker !?!?1 So I looked on the website of Rosetti, who does the distributing nowadays for Europe. I was shocked by the prices: only the pickup cover costs 18 UK-Pounds - without postincosts etc. A complete pickup costs like 122 UK-Pounds(= $190,=). Finally after two days calling to the former Dutch distributer I could buy their last Pick-up(neck) for $80,= which is a fair price........
So I disassembled the pickup, and used the cover for my treble pick-up like Paul Yan did - and it sure looks great!
Are there more people from Europe on this forum, and if yes: where do you get your spare parts?
Low-tone bass greetings from Holland!!!

Beside owning 14 guitars and basses and my own homestudio, what do I want more?
Hi, Robin.
I live in Europe myself - Lisbon, Portugal.
As for spare parts, well, back in the 80's I would order these (including nameplates) directly from RIC. I haven't ordered anything from them lately. If I'm correct, there's a RIC dealer in Spain. I don't remember the address, though. Can anyone help?

A Rickenbacker bass is much like the Jaguar E car - perennially ultra-fashionable.
Mortivan is right on, Dan. The Montezuma Brown is very striking. I especially like the manner in which it complements the fretboard and, at the same time, the way it enhances the contrasting white pickguard. A very handsome package indeed.

Jeffrey: Good question. When I initially made the change I used a tiny bit of "Duct tape" to do the job. I guess Red Green has had too big an influence on me.
