EBAY RESULTS, GOOD OR BAD

Post by rickofan »

Hi All,
Just picked up my Ebay winnings, I drove to Ansonia Conn. to pick up a 60's Rickenbacker (Silver with leather ends) case. The below items are part of the total auction offering. The auction was from Bankos Music, Joe is a great guy to meet and deal with in my experience.

1) Original Blue Rick polishing cloth near new condition in original plastic bag.

2) Keys to the case in a brown envelope.

3) As new (unused) 60's Rickenbacker guitar strap
just like the one I received when I bought my first Rickenbacker in July of 1966.

4) Original Rickenbacker silver power cord just like I found in the case back in 1966.

5) I would rate the case at 9 of 10 overall.
some surface scuffs but nothing very serious. The inside is flawless.

6) Just thought you guys would enjoy this little note, the case still has attached to it the original General Tire Tolex tag via a piece of black string. The tag tells the world how great Tolex is.

I paid $344.00 for these items on the Ebay Auction so how did I do? Did I pay too much or too little. I am satisfied with the deal in fact I thought the above would actually go for more money, but I sometimes lose good judgement when it comes to Rickenbacker Gear.
Thanks,
Alan

I forgot to note the case is for a 325 3/4 scale.

I think you got a great deal! All-original 1966 case plus goodies. Just the blue sixties polishing cloth in its original bag has gone recently on eBay for well over $100!

Now you just need a minty all-original 1966 325 to go in it! Image

I guess I will have to settle for the 2003 325c58 I have for now. Although I am actively searching for a 1966 / 1967 Model 335 in 9+ condition, anyone?

I have seen vintage cases go for at least that at guitar shows. No extras and not in that good of condition. Excellent buy in my opinion.

That is a great looking 335, but I should have added I want a Fire-Glo finish just as I had on my original 1966 335 back in the day.
Thanks,
Alan

The red paint is tempting, but I just do not think my painting skills are up to the task.

Graham, it's only a factor of two, for goodness sake! Image

Not mint, not a 335, but it's an all-original 1966 340 FG:
