Bach 4004s

Have you ever noticed these BaCH RB simil-rickenbacker 4004?

they're manufactured in czech republic with a lot of other models

I guess the European wholesaler is in Czech Republic, however it is a Korean production with reasonable quality. The pickup's magnetic fields are not able to cover the strings in bridge position, hence the E and G string sound weak if switched to bridge PU only.
Maybe some answer (not legal) to the current high price auctions on Ricks in the ebay?

It appears that they also have a 650 copy with a bolt on neck.

What kind of wood is Caroline ? Binding done right with contour . Neck through with toasters....why do I still not want one

If I saw one of them in a music store or in a pawn shop I would snatch it up ...

But there are some flaws in those basses ... the neck is set too low ... they have to set the pickups deeper into the body ... also I have some of those pickups ... they are ok but don't sound as good as real Ric pickups ... they make an ok neck pickup but not a good bridge pickup ... and the bridge looks cheap ... and how good is the neck? Korean basses usually need fret leveling ... so that bass would fall short of Ric quality on several levels ... it would be ok if it were under $500 ...

Bach sold them on a German website aswell. John Hall spoke to Bach and they don't offer them anymore on that German website. Although some people emailed Bach and they could buy a 4004 copy for $150.

I think the Bach basses were discussed earlier on this forum and there was a link to this shop:

The frets were nicely leveled on the one I had about 6 months ago. The binding was smooth but with some areas of the flame maple top not covering the edges close to the binding. The bass was light and of good playability, neck with nearly J-bass dimensions at the nut. Soundwise not so far off from the 4003 but definitely no 4004-character. However a steal (literally) of Rick-copy for less than 300$. This bass makes the kids asking for the real thing some day. definitely (kind of illegal RIC-Promotion)!
