A Jingle-jangle Afternoon

Post by jimk »

I did it. I just ordered my Ric, a 360 12 string fireglo, from Rhoads Music. I had a pleasant conversation with Jim Rhoads, too. And now...the wait begins.

The wait will be well worth it, Jim. Congrats on your choice and the finish.

Thanks, Stan. I thought about it long and hard when I decided to plug in, so to speak. And I know that model is going to suit my playing style, and the music I want to play just fine; lots of Beatles, and that West Coast jangle-twang folk/country-rock sound. It's going to be a very good match.

An excellent decision, James. Were you given any estimate of the wait time?

Yeah, 16 months. So I'll just pretend that I'm waiting on a custom built, one of a kind, guitar from a small one-man shop somewhere in the Rocky Mountains of Montana, or something. Image

Hahahahahahaha!!! Not a bad way of looking at it, though. 16 months is a looooong time........

Jim, if you don't want to wait so long, and don't mind a pre-owned, there's a 360/12 FG for sale right now at Wildwood Guitars.

Nice thought there, Stan. But I don't want to lose my deposit. And I have a few very well paying gigs coming up this summer that will quite handily cover the balance when the guitar comes in. That waiting period will work to my advantage. And truth to tell, for the money I'd really rather have a brand new Ric, in the second place.

Thanks for the thought, though.
