Odometer Rollover

Post by wayang »

With the upcoming milestone in the Rickenbacker Basses section (by my reckoning, we're 17 posts away from 10,000), I thought it might be fun to raise (yet again) the discussion of what it is that makes this the most popular part of the Forum...

(...taking note, of course, of the Curmudgeon's increasingly impressive tally...)

What say you all, bottom dwellers?

(Of course, I mean for you non-bassists to weigh in, too...)
I didn't get where I am today by being on time...

The bassists have to cram most everything in under one topic heading.

I think there are fewer bassists than guitarists (obvious, but how could I come up with real numbers?), and I think Rick guitars are not as popular among guitarist in general as Rick basses are among bassists. So with a forum that concentrates the interests of Rick owners, players, or wannabes, it seems natural that the section gets more traffic. Don't know if it makes sense, but there it is.

Simple: The coolest people play bass! They don't get distracted by all the chicks the singers and guitar players seem to have hovering around them, so there is more time for intelligent discussion.
