Any NEW info on 4004/5 Cheyenne II?

Post by pma »

I tried contacting Rickenbacker on this (again) after ordering one a few months ago. They are now not responding at all. Does anyone know of a possible production date for these?

I really want my 5 string.

Regards,

Paul

Paul, I can see a line of players forming to rant about not being able to get one yet. You, Brad Farha (Banta)and me should be amongst the first few on that complaint line.

Get a 4004 4 string and convert it to a 5 string ... they convert very nicely ... as long as you get a bridge that is 2 1/4" or 2 3/8" ... Dillion, Epiphone, and BC rich sometimes use a 2 3/8" bridge that works very well ... the you replace the nut and add a tuner ...

the pickups and electronics need no mods at all ...

the 2 3/8" string spacing feels good ... much better than the 2 1/8" of the 4003s5 ...

then you can let Ric take their sweet time in producing a five string and not worry about it ...

I'm sure waiting for a 4004 could take about as long as waiting for a 4004Cii5, unless you were lucky enough to win one on ebay, but they don't show up there very often. Other than at the NAMM show, I've only seen a 4004 basses in pictures.
