Roland JC120: HELP!!!

Post by jdogric12 »

Hey gang. If anyone has a JC 120, could you take pics of the back? I am starting to think they forgot to install the reverb tank on mine. I just don't see one anywhere. But I clearly see the honkin' thing in my 77 and 90. Thanks - J

Might be a silly question, but do you get reverb through it?

No reverb at all. Hence the problem. Not a silly question... I forgot to mention that! Image

Called Roland. They said the reverb is hidden up in the brain. So I guess I'll take it to the local svc ctr.

Hey Jdog!

The reverb unit in mine is loosely suspended from the underside of the chassis. As you look at the back of the amp it's above the right hand speaker:

Mine is like Howard's... except, of course, my reverb tank sounds terrible now. Need to replace it. Image

My humble advice is to forget about the Roland reverb and get a Holy Grail ... you might find that the faulty JC120 reverb you got is a blessing in disguise.

Fair point, Kent. I don't use the reverb in the JC-120 much myself. IMO there are much better pedals that you can use.... even my Korg AX1500G is a heck of a lot better!

COol, thanks guys. Mine looks... different. So I don't know what to think. I think I'll take it to the local authorized service center. Even if it sucks it should work, being new. I'm sure you're right about the sound and blessing though.
